Kirsten Hausia comes from a multiracial background, An Aboriginal woman, whose mother is Badimiya Yamatji from Perth, WA and father is African American descent.
Kirsten’s educational/professional background is a Bachelor of Primary Education at Historically Black College & University Norfolk State University. Then obtained her Masters of Educational Studies with a concentration in Educational Leadership and Guidance/ Counselling at the University of Queensland’s.
Currently, Kirsten started a passion project called Culture Crate. Culture Crate is a space that focuses on the importance of diversity and inclusion in Children & YA literature throughout Australia.
