Felt Possum Skin Cloak

Description

Aboriginal people from Victoria traditionally made possum skin cloaks by sewing possum pelts together with kangaroo sinew. Symbols were etched using a shell or bone and then painted with Ochre. There has been a revival in the skill of making possum skin cloaks. Children can use the cloak to wrap their babies while playing in home corner
