Quandong (Santalum acuminatum) is the native peach of Australia that is a relative of the Sandalwood. A small tree, variable in size, from 2 – 8 metres high that is more commonly found in dry arid areas that is tolerant to drought and salinity. Fossilised Quandongs have been found in coal seams in Victoria, dating back 40 million years.
